WATERFENCE

City Of Bellingham Water Treatment Plant

2017

Located in scenic Whatcom Falls Park, this facility is surrounded by woods and walking trails. The 360 foot long fence has scenes of the journey water takes from precipitation, thru return to the ocean. There are 7 different panel designs, which repeat every 50 feet or so. Images needed to meet the legal requirements for a security fence and be readable from a distance. The cutout designs are part stencil, part Mexican papel picado, and part Hokusai Japanese print. Plasma cut and galvanized steel.

Commissioned by the City of Bellingham.
